Registers of bonds filed for building and loan association officers, 1897-1922.

Registers list officers of each building and loan association for whom bonds have been filed. Entries for each bonded officer include association name and location; bond number; officer title (e.g., president; secretary; treasurer; attorney); bond amount; bond type (i.e., personal; surety); annual bond filing date; and bond expiration date. Occasional notes indicate if association dissolved or surrendered its charter.

In 1865 counties and cities were authorized to issue bonds in support of subscriptions to the capital stock of railroad companies or in aid of any public improvement (L. 1865, p. 44).
